Drag Karaoke
A community-driven pilot project supporting local performers, small businesses, and audience engagement through live entertainment, sponsorship, and grassroots marketing in Old Sacramento.
Drag Karaoke Sacramento
A First Steps Community Activation
What started as an idea between friends became an evening filled with music, laughter, community, and more than a few flying roses (and panties)
.
Drag Karaoke Sacramento was created as a pilot project to explore how local businesses, performers, sponsors, and community members can come together to create meaningful experiences that benefit everyone involved.
Hosted at Bear & Crown British Pub in Old Sacramento and featuring the incredible Miss Lita Taylor, the event brought together first-time singers, returning performers, local supporters, and curious newcomers for a night that reminded us what happens when people choose to show up for one another.
Beyond the karaoke itself, the project served as a real-world experiment in community engagement, grassroots marketing, sponsorship collaboration, and audience participation. It supported local business, celebrated LGBTQ+ entertainment, and provided a platform to test ideas that may grow into future activations throughout Sacramento.
Most importantly, it proved something simple:
People are still looking for reasons to gather, connect, and create memories together.
To everyone who attended, sang, cheered, volunteered, sponsored, shared a post, bought a drink, threw a rose, or simply showed up,—
Thank you.
You helped transform a simple idea into something real.
This event was never intended to be an endpoint.
It was a first step.
And we're excited to see where the next ones lead.
